Unbecoming 2027

These terms apply to bookings for Unbecoming, a residential retreat run by Bethany Cottam (trading as Betty Cottam Bertels), held at Ty fforest, fforest farm, Cilgerran, from 4 to 7 May 2027. By booking, you agree to these terms.

Three nights' accommodation in your chosen room type, all meals (dinner Tuesday to breakfast on Friday; with wine in the evening), the group hypnosis journeys, parts-work session, fire ceremony and celebration feast, time in the woodland spa, a group call before and after the retreat, and a personalised hypnosis recording after the retreat.

Not included: travel to and from the venue, travel insurance, and any personal expenses.

Arrival and departure: arrival on Tuesday 4 May; check out on Friday 7 May. Times TBC.

• You can pay in full, or in 6 monthly payments.
• Your place is reserved once your first payment has been received.
• The 6-payment plan is available for bookings made by 30 November 2026, with the final payment taken by 30 April 2027. If you book after 30 November, please pay in full or contact me to arrange a shorter plan with fewer, larger payments.
• Full payment is required before you attend.

If a monthly payment fails, I'll contact you. If it isn't made within 14 days, I may release your place, and the cancellation terms below will apply to any money already paid.

Please tell me in writing (email is fine).

• Before 1 February 2027: everything you've paid will be refunded, except your first payment (or £500 if you paid in full), which covers booking and planning costs.
• Between 1 February and 8 March 2027: 50% of the total price is non-refundable. Anything paid above that will be refunded.
• From 9 March 2027: no refund, and any outstanding payments remain due.

Transferring your place: you can transfer your place to someone else at no charge up to 14 days before the retreat, as long as they complete the suitability form and it's a good fit.

If I'm able to fill your place from a waiting list, I'll refund what you've paid, less your first payment.

• If fewer than 4 guests have booked by 1 February 2027, or I have to cancel for any reason (for example illness, or a problem with the venue), you'll receive a full refund of everything you've paid.
• I'm not responsible for travel or other costs you've arranged, so I recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
• The programme may change slightly to suit the group, the weather or the venue. The heart of the retreat will stay the same.

If the venue becomes unavailable: I'll do my best to find a venue of a similar standard nearby on the same dates, or to offer new dates. If the venue or dates change, you can choose to keep your place or take a full refund of everything you've paid. If I can't find a suitable alternative, I'll cancel the retreat and give everyone a full refund.

• Every guest completes a short health and suitability form before the retreat. Please answer honestly. It helps me keep you safe.
• If, after reading your form, I don't think the retreat is right for you at this time, I'll explain why and give you a full refund.
• This retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If you're under the care of a doctor or therapist, please check with them before attending.
• The sauna, cold water and river swimming are optional and taken at your own risk. Please follow the venue's guidance.
• Please tell me about any medication, health conditions, pregnancy or dietary requirements.

• What's shared at the retreat stays at the retreat. Please respect everyone's confidentiality.
• No recreational drugs. Please drink alcohol in moderation.
• Please follow the venue's rules, including no sauna use after drinking alcohol, and fires only in the firepits.
• If someone's behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of others at risk, I may ask them to leave, without a refund.

• Rooms are allocated in order of booking.
• Shared rooms may be bunks in the farmhouse or a twin room in a nearby cabin.
• Domes are subject to availability.
• Any room upgrades are at my discretion.

Your personalised hypnosis recording is for your personal use only. Please don't share it. Group calls are not recorded unless everyone agrees.

I will be taking photographs at the retreat. These photographs are really useful in terms of portraying what happens, for the benefit of any future participants. Please tell me if you do not want your photograph to be taken, or used by me in my promotional materials. 

I hold professional insurance. I'm not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings, and you're responsible for any damage you cause at the venue. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

I'll use your details only to organise the retreat and stay in touch about it. Health information is kept confidential and deleted after the retreat.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
